What a great Family Game day!!!

It has been my tradition in 2nd grade to have a family game day instead of a typical class "party". We had lots of moms and dads get into the action and everyone had fun playing games! Here are some pictures taken yesterday and of today's fun!

Please send me any photos you took so I can add them! Thanks Mrs Yancy for sending me yours, I am never caught on this side of the camera!!!

Merry Christmas dear friends! Thank you for the kind gifts and for sharing your best gift with me everyday!

Science Experiment Friday!

We had so much fun today! First the kids helped me teach Math to Mrs. Smith's class. Then we learned about changing properties of matter using energy, otherwise known as "let's make cupcakes!" After lunch we split up into  centers, working on force, motion and a little bit of properties of matter. Look at the pictures and check out how hard we worked.

I hope you guys have a blessed holiday and Happy Thanksgiving! Oh yeah, don't forget there is homework!

Cupcake: mixing solids into a liquid wit a little bit of water!

Simple ingrediants can make the most fun science experiments!

Oh No, a few of rhem were too liquidy! I had to make a few kids a new science project!

Who knew lids and yard sticks could be so much fun! Why do we spend so much on presents?!?!?

They loved the computer center, it gave them a break from all the hard work!

Playdough is always a good time!

Who's puffer works best? Its not that easy blowing cotton ball sheep! Just as Leah!

How many puffs did it take you, Leah?

Hey Sydney? Was blowing the hotwheels on the track as easy as you thought it would be?!?

Boy am I tired, but what a fun day!

Teacher of the year!

I want to publicly thank my family and coworkers for celebrating my achievement of Teacher of the Year! I was honored today with the other teacher of the years from the schools of Cobb County. Dr Simmons-Deveaux, "Mr. David", my mom and my dad joined me for breakfast and the peprally. I was also blessed to have Mrs. Brown and some of my former students there to cheer me on at the peprally. Thank you for always supporting me.

Th kids getting all jazzed up before the peprally with the band.

While we waited to walk in, I was honoured to take a picture with my former student teacher, Autumn Martin who also earned the award for her school!

Teachers walking in.

I was number 45, the kids had a long wait just to see me!

I was happy to find them in the crowd!

Then I recieved my plaque from the Superintendent of Schools.

Afterwards, I got pictures with everyone!
