October? Already???

I can't believe that October is already underway! It's been a crazy start and will continue to be that way, especially with my being absent the past 2 days! For the next 2 weeks our schedule is going to be very different because other grades are taking the CoGat and ITBS tests. I am relieved to tell you that we are NOT a part of these assessments! But, in order to accomadate those testing, we will be going to Specials at 9:30 instead of 1:10. This means that our day will be switched around alot! We'll start with math, but won't be doing centers like normal. Lunch will be at 11:20 as always! Reading and Literacy will be in the afternoons. 

After 2 weeks, October 20-24, we will have early release for for Cobb County's Conference week. That will mean that we have lunch at 10:03 and Specials at 11:30. Please follow this link to sign up for our Parent teacher conference. It is pretty easy.  I've listed the times I'm able and or willing to meet, you pick the time that will be best for you.  Each meeting will last 20 minutes.

Now, on top of all this, the Book Fair begins soon. We go Tuesday for the Book Fair Pre-view. Please don't send money until Tuesday. If you'd like to go with your child to the Book Fair, typically parents are allowed to bring their children before 8. We just ask that you leave backpacks in the classroom before entering the book fair, that way I know your child is not tardy or absent.  In the past, the Media Center has been closed, That is how this year will again work. It might be best if you visit the Public Library. They have an incredible selection of books and we can easily check the AR levels on www.ARBookfind.com! Of course, they will continue to have access to my books. 

The final week is when Halloween happens! Oh my goodness! Already? I am sending home a Butterfly Book Report Monday, along with the normal homework. It will be due on the 31st. It is faily straight forward. There are examples on the blog from last year if you want to check it out!
